Cosmetic dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry is a multidisciplinary branch of dentistry because, in addition to beautiful, healthy, white, and properly aligned teeth, it also requires a healthy periodontium, meaning healthy gums.
Metal-free crowns surrounded by swollen and inflamed gums do not contribute to aesthetics and disrupt the overall smile. A common term used for gum aesthetics is pink aesthetic.
A properly aligned dental arch is an aesthetic imperative, but it also affects overall oral and dental health. Properly positioned teeth are easier to clean, and the distribution of forces released during chewing is physiological and positively impacts the tooth’s supporting structures. On the other hand, improperly positioned teeth endure significantly stronger forces, which causes the weakening of the tooth’s supporting apparatus, including the bone and fibers that hold the tooth in the jaw, leading to periodontal disease, tooth mobility, and other problems. Additionally, the inability to maintain good hygiene further complicates the situation. If all teeth are present but misaligned, orthodontic therapy is the right solution.

Analysis as a step in cosmetic dentistry?
Aesthetics are closely related to health and functionality. There is no beautiful smile without healthy gums and teeth.
Once we’ve corrected everything we can, the next important step is the analysis. For this purpose, an impression is taken to carefully analyze the model and create an appropriate treatment plan. It is also common to photograph the patient to align the new tooth shape with their facial structure and skin tone. Smile Design software is also used for planning.
After a comprehensive analysis, we make a decision about the treatment that will bring us closest to the desired result, in collaboration with the patient.
With this joint engagement and cooperation between our patients and us, the results will be achieved. However, we must emphasize that these changes do not happen overnight. Unfortunately, even with all the new technological advancements, we still cannot influence the biological tissue response, which requires time.
