Veeners
Veneers or dental facings are coverings for teeth that can shape the teeth in various ways. In addition to cosmetic indications, ceramic veneers are used to cover various discolorations of teeth that are resistant to whitening, as well as to close diastemas (gaps between teeth), restore enamel loss, or repair tooth fractures. Veneers can also be used to reshape teeth altered by tetracycline staining. In a very elegant way, without extensive tooth filing and discomfort for the patient, we can reshape, lengthen, widen, or change the color of the teeth. Overall, a smile enhanced with veneers becomes significantly more beautiful.
Advantages of ceramic veneers
A veneer or facade usually refers to a ceramic veneer. In our practice, we more commonly encounter other forms of veneers that are more economically cost-effective because the manufacturing process is much cheaper and faster. These are composite veneers or pre-made factory veneers that are cemented after choosing the appropriate size and color.
Ceramic veneers or ceramic facades involve the use of the IPS E.Max Ceram system. This highly aesthetic veneer ceramic allows for vivid light dispersion and makes it easier to achieve the desired tooth color. Prosthetic work made with this system is impressive in its appearance.
When we consider that the thickness of veneers is just a fraction of a millimeter, it becomes clear that we are dealing with a small artistic piece that achieves its full aesthetic shine after cementation.
The advantage of ceramic veneers over composite veneers is undoubtedly their durability and aesthetics. Ceramic veneers do not change color over time, unlike composite veneers, and this is the main advantage of ceramic veneers. Additionally, the aesthetic quality is significantly better because ceramic veneers have far superior optical characteristics compared to composite.
As a drawback, we could mention the cost and the time required to make the veneers. Ceramic veneers require more visits, while composite veneers can be placed on the same day.

The price of ceramic veneers may be higher in the short term, but they are much more cost-effective compared to composite veneers, and we recommend their use. The quality materials we use in our clinic for creating such restorations guarantee a long-term solution for your teeth and a beautiful smile.
Tooth restorations with veneers
Table Tops (lateral veneers) are dental restorations used to repair large tooth destruction, which in most cases occurs due to abrasion. The cause of tooth abrasion can be bruxism (grinding), but it can also occur when there are ceramic restorations in one of the jaws. Ceramic, being a significantly harder material, over time leads to the wear of the tooth substance on the tooth it contacts.
We often face the dilemma of whether to place a crown on the entire tooth or apply Table Tops as a solution. When it comes to young individuals, we tend to prefer Table Tops for the reconstruction of the occlusal surfaces of the teeth. This way, we preserve the tooth by avoiding extensive filing. However, it should be noted that due to a weaker bond (smaller surface area), the durability of this type of restoration is lower compared to a crown. Table Tops can be made using various technological methods – CAD-CAM or IPS Empress techniques. The CAD-CAM technique involves the use of computer-aided design and the creation of restorations using ceramic systems from pre-made ceramic blocks that are milled. IPS Empress involves modeling and casting the ceramic in a special oven under controlled conditions.
In addition to the exceptional aesthetics achieved by Table Tops, unlike composites, they do not change color and do not deform over time. Their precise fit helps prevent the occurrence of secondary cavities.

Similar to Table Tops, ceramic inlays and onlays also refer to smaller restorative areas.
Inlays are used for filling teeth and can restore up to three surfaces of a tooth. When ceramic fillings are done, it is always beneficial for them to be in contact with the opposing tooth, which also has a ceramic restoration. Onlays cover the entire occlusal surface of the tooth. Both restorations are significantly more durable and precise and fit better onto the remaining tooth structures compared to conventional composite fillings.
